Job Summary

The African Studies Program (ASP) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking to fill a work-study position. The student employee will assist with everyday operations of the program and will report directly to the program’s Associate Director and collaborate closely with other administrative staff in the ASP office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, disseminating promotional materials for events, making campus runs, assisting with computer work, answering the telephone, assisting with social media maintenance, helping with special events and designing flyers. The position will be expected to work for 10 to 15 hours a week.
The work-study position offers a great opportunity for the student to build your resume, gain valuable experience speaking with other students interested in African Studies, helping plan program events, engaging with people from different cultures and enhancing your educational experiences.

Office skills, ability to speak in public

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
