Job Summary

The Kohl lab at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Student Laboratory Technician. The primary duties will be to conduct animal care for a colony of Xenopus frogs. This will involve feeding, tank cleaning, conducting animal measurements, and determining developmental stages. Additional tasks may include: maintaining and operating standard lab equipment; cleaning glassware and equipment; restocking supplies and materials; and collecting and maintaining records in appropriate databases.

Job Requirements

Strong organizational and good communication skills are required. All procedures will be taught, but candidate must possess a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
