Position Details

The Division of Vascular-lnterventional Radiology at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh is currently recruiting an academic and community interventional radiologist. The Division is based at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Shadyside hospitals, and IR faculty members provide daily and call coverage at multiple UPMC hospitals throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

The IR Division performs the entire spectrum of interventional radiology procedures with strong oncologic, hepatobiliary, transplant, trauma, vascular, and pediatric interventional radiology services. There is an excellent relationship with Hepatology, Transplant Surgery and Liver Surgery. The IR Division integrated within the Hillman Cancer Center with a strong interventional oncology practice.

In addition to our clinic based practice, we have active image-guided research programs, including interventional oncology translational laboratory opportunities, as well as collaborations with other laboratories in the Department and in the health system. Major research focuses include interventional oncology, organ transplantation, hepatobiliary disease, trauma, and portal hypertension.

The IR Division currently has 12 full-time IR physicians, 4 dedicated APPs, and 3 fellows as well as the support of the UPMC Diagnostic Radiology Residency. In addition, the division has been approved to begin a new integrated IR/DR Residency Program beginning this year.

Duties for this position will consist of a mix of clinical, teaching, and academic responsibilities. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania, Interventional radiology fellowship training is required, and CAQ in VIR is desired.
