Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Athletic Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of IT Support Analyst. This position will be a member of the Athletics’ IT Help Desk, which provides technical support for the Athletic Department’s computers, mobile devices, and software systems. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all hardware and software systems within the department and making recommendations on improvements as well as diagnosing and resolving all help-requests in a timely manner. The incumbent must be highly organized, highly motivated, and possess excellent customer service skills.

The IT Support Analyst will also be responsible for providing solutions to problems that are consistent with generally accepted IT standards. To perform these duties effectively, the individual must be able to communicate with coaches, staff, and vendors in a respectful and professional manner. The individual must be able to resolve unique problems by collecting and interpreting information to determine correct solutions as well as have excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

The incumbent should have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or related area and at least one year of full-time experience in a similar setting. The individual will also be required to have a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and generally accepted principles of information technology. He/she must possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, hardware, and excellent troubleshooting skills.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
