Position Details

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to appoint a full-time Chemistry Lecturer, for a renewable 8-month contract, outside of the tenure stream, effective September 2018, and pending budgetary approval. Review of applications will begin on 6 November 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach two large enrollment courses in each of the fall and spring terms. These courses would primarily be in our General Chemistry program but could extend, on occasion, to other courses, depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant. In addition, as a full-time lecturer, they will have administrative and committee duties commensurate with a large chemistry service program at a major university and are expected to have a full-time presence on campus. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from an accredited university.
