Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Financial Research Administrator-Intern. This position is an entry-level position that will allow an individual to gain baseline core competencies essential to the daily functions of a financial research administrator. Responsibilities will include activities involving an understanding of general terminology, cost accounting concepts, post-award management, pre-award administration, and budget preparation.

The provisional period of this position will allow the employee to review and gain an understanding of University, federal, and sponsor baseline information, guidelines and processes, as well as the completion of University training in various professional development activities. A detailed curriculum will be followed to allow the individual to gain personal experience in a structured and supportive environment.

The incumbent will be responsible for the direct management of all pre-award and post-award activities of the international awards maintained by the SVCHS Research Administration Office. In addition, this individual will provide support to other areas within the health sciences as needs arise.

A degree in communication, accounting, or a finance-related field with accounting credits is desirable, however not required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
