Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Registered Nurse. Under the general direction of the clinic manager, the Registered Nurse provides and supports professional nursing services to the student-patients seen at the Student Health Service. The scope of care is predominantly comprehensive adolescent and adult primary care. Responsibilities include administration of medications and treatments, triage of unscheduled patients and phone calls, assisting the clinician with minor procedures, education of patients, and care and preparation of exam rooms and instruments. Effective communication skills with patients and staff and competent use of the electronic medical record are necessary.

RN Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; BSN strongly preferred. Current RN license required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
