Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist who will support the research group of Dr. Warren Shlomchik.

The Department of Medicine and Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is mainly focused on the immunology related to allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation. The incumbent’s main task will be to assist scientists conducting their experiments in mouse transplantation models and cellular and molecular immunology. This includes assisting in the execution of transplantation experiments, collection, and purification of cells from bone marrow, spleen and lymph node, routine tissue culture and flow cytometry, and immunohistology.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree in science related field with at least two years of course lab experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
