Position Description

Innovative Technologies Development Core (ITDC), in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is seeking a Research Technician (Research III) to assist Dr. Sebastien Gingras, the Core’s Director in conducting experiments and assay development.

The ITDC facilities provide design and production services to University of Pittsburgh’s investigators to create new mouse models by genetic engineering using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. This is an exciting position contributing to ground-breaking research and using cutting-edge technology.

The successful candidate will have significant prior experience in molecular biology, including PCR genotyping, cloning, and work with RNA. Strong computer skill and data management ability are necessary.

The person hired will be expected to be able to work independently after suitable training, and as part of a team.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology or related field.

College degree in molecular biology or a related field. Computer literate. Knowledge of biological, mathematical and chemical principles.
