Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Assistant Core Manager in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). CTSI provides the support necessary to bridge the gap between innovative approaches to research and effective clinical and public health practice and health policy in research.

The Assistant Core Manager must oversee a diverse portfolio of CTSI-funded projects. He/she will develop infrastructure to monitor the portfolio, establish performance metrics, and track initiative outcomes along with formulating reports from collected data, assisting in the development of collateral materials, and communicating the impact and benefits of CTSI funding mechanisms.

The Assistant Core Manager will support the development, design, and implementation of new and existing programs for multiple internal cores. He/she will collect, analyze, and interpret related internal CTSI operating metrics and identify strategies to improve the efficacy and efficiency of related CTSI programs.

The Assistant Core Manager will help manage, coordinate, and promote all CTSI funding mechanisms, both novel and traditional. He/she will participate in facilitation meetings with funding recipients. Along with that, the incumbent will maintain a database of past, current, and potential project judges and reviewers, local partners, consultants, opinion leaders, and events.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience working in academic administration on large multi project grants.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
