Position Description

The Immunology department at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified
Senior Lab Technician.

The candidate will be primarily responsible for picking up and processing human tissues and blood for a research lab focused on the cellular and molecular immunology of cancer. Comfort with handling human specimens is required. Experience with processing human tissues, flow cytometry, human in vitro functional assays, and data management is highly desirable. Ability to perform complex technological experiments and analysis. Occasional weekend work may be necessary and flexible work hours are desirable. Individuals looking for a medium sized lab environment and the opportunity to work with a fair amount of independence and responsibility will find this position rewarding.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 3-5 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Knowledge of mathematical and chemical principles.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
