Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Med-Pediatrics is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the Cystic Fibrosis Research Center (CFRC) faculty by providing clerical support for pre-award grant preparation, manuscript development, physical plant orders, teaching support activities, and all other miscellaneous needs of the faculty as well as assisting the Department Accounting Office by providing support for purchasing using the Panther Express purchasing system, maintenance contracts, research incentives, asset management, telephone and port management.

The incumbent must be skilled in the advanced use of word processing, database and spreadsheet tools using both PC and Mac. Knowledge of the following programs is preferred: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, etc. Knowledge of the University grant process is preferred. The incumbent must possess above average initiative, judgment, organizational skills, and communication abilities.

A solid background in all administrative skills is preferred. An Associate’s degree in Business/Accounting is helpful.
PLEASE NOTE: The hiring range posted above is for a full-time position at 100% effort. The salary range for this part-time position will be prorated based on 50% effort.
This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville.

TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
