Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Surg-Div of Pediatric Surgery is seeking a Senior Research Specialist. The Senior Research Specialist will be responsible for several projects directed by the PI. The position will train students in medical research and as well train and assist residents, fellows and visiting scholars for their projects. The Senior Research Specialist will be responsible for advising those in the lab on protocol and with the development of new research techniques. The incumbent Senior Research Specialist will be responsible for animal work, cell biology and molecular biology experiments, including but not limited to immunohistochemistry, PCR, protein blotting, ELISA, molecular cloning, virus production and functional analyses.

Experience with handling mice. Familiarity with cryostat, microtome microscope. Adept in ips cell culture.
