Position Description

The Media Producer is a professional position that supports the teaching and learning activities at the University Center for Teaching and Learning through the production of video and audio recordings. The incumbent is responsible for both technical and creative aspects of production. Primary activities include: production conceptualization, write scope documents, create project timelines, estimate and manage budgets, write/edit scripts, identify shoot locations, select talent, direct support staff, select lighting, videography, editing, creation of graphics and animations, and delivery of the final production. Secondary tasks include providing supplemental support for lecture capture and special event activities.

The successful applicant will have a high degree of both technical skill and creative talent. Proficiency with industry standard media production applications including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Encore, and Audition is essential. Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and strong organizational skills are required. Assignments will frequently require early morning, late evening, and weekend hours in addition to the regular work schedule. Work hours may be flexed with authorization from the Manager of Academic Digital Media.

A bachelor’s degree in digital media production or equivalent education and experience is required.

At least three years of media production experience, preferably at an institution of higher education.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
