Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Coordinator and Assessor who will provide research social work and/or neuropsychological assessment support to the NIA-funded Alzheimer Disease Research Center and clinical trials program. He/she will conduct psycho-social and/or cognitive assessments and research evaluations of subjects/families for the ADRC programs, participate in consensus conferences and organize subject meetings as required. The incumbent will conduct independent global rating evaluations for federal and industry-sponsored drug studies; serve as liaison to research consortia; work with recruitment coordinators to develop a recruitment network; serve as a resource to research subjects/families and health professionals.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

This is a professional level research position requiring a Master’s degree in social work/counseling/psychology or other relevant major with a minimum of 2-3 years previous experience (geriatric/psychiatric populations preferred). Excellent interpersonal skills are required. University of Pittsburgh CITI training modules certification is required. If incumbent is not currently certified, must obtain certification upon hire. Knowledge of community resources and interface with potential recruitment referral sources is preferred.

Two to three years previous experience (geriatric/psychiatric populations preferred) is preferred.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
