Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Internship Manager who will be primarily responsible for managing a domestic internship program for students of Pitt Business. This includes benchmarking and researching best practices for implementing and overseeing such a program. Additionally, this position will manage and continually update the BUS 0020 course and coordinate the instruction of the course. This employee will also work with students one-on-one for various different aspects of career development such as interviewing skills and job search strategies. The Internship Manager will also train and supervise the Professional Development Consultants on specific techniques for advising students on career development. In addition, this position will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of Pitt Business graduate placement data. Lastly, the incumbent will be charged with continually benchmarking against other career development offices and researching the new practices to keep Pitt Business Career Development current and efficient in all its processes. There will also be other duties, as needed.

Education Required Baccalaureate
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 3-5 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Baccalaureate required. Masters in a related field preferred.
Previous experience within a career development or previous industry experience. The applicant should have demonstrated previous experience in program design, counseling, training, presentation delivery and management. Previous experience in marketing and promotions a plus. Applicant must be able to multi-task, utilize MS Office, and have demonstrated previous utilization of other creative software tools or demonstrated a willingness to learn new software packages. Previous experience with the Simplicity recruiting software also a plus.

Previous experience within a career development, career advising, and/or human resources unit strongly preferred.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
