Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Finance Assistant. The incumbent provides fiscal and administrative support to the Department of Bioengineering. Primary responsibilities to include: 1) Aiding department administrator and financial administrator in helping faculty manage their grants, personnel, and long term goals. 2) Facilities and Purchasing duties across multiple facilities. 3) Financial responsibilities involving level report reconciliation, posting departmental purchases and salaries, as well as seeking out additional funding for graduate research accounts from University-wide grant administrators and monitoring additional yearly funding for sponsored projects 4) Hiring, providing direction, and delegating work to student employees.

The Bioengineering Department is looking for a dedicated and responsible individual who is well organized and able to multi-task. The incumbent must have Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 2-5 years of professional experience.
