Position Description

The Supervisor of Data Management provides strategic oversight and project management to Data Management functions within the EDC in the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health.

The successful candidate will understand technologies and processes to collect, manage, report, and disseminate data from multiple medical research projects. This requires understanding medical issues and information gathering and processing. The Supervisor of Data Management will provide direct oversight of the Data Management group and work in collaboration with the Information Technology group to strategically analyze technologies and processes with the expectation of developing methods to efficiently and effectively provide and process complete and accurate data.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of relevant professional experience is required. A Masters degree is preferred in computer science, computer engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field. Experience leading and managing an analogous support group is required.
