Position Description

The Lab Technician will make an assessment of immune reactivity of human leukocytes to pathogen-derived immunogens. The immunogens will include, but are not limited to HIV-derived proteins. Analysis of data derived from experiments and assistance in the preparation of data reports and presentations. The candidate will participate in daily quality control work following the standard operating procedures. In addition, this person will also have some responsibilities in maintaining the daily operation of our laboratory department equipment with emphasis being placed on monitoring freezers and incubators.

Bachelor’s degree required, but Master’s degree is preferred. Relevant background in immunology is highly desirable. Experience with human blood processing, tissue culture, and flow cytometry a plus.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
