Position Description

This position will serve as Research Assistant for various clinical health services research studies. The incumbent will assist faculty with the conduct of high quality research studies aimed at improving the safety and effectiveness of medications used by children and adults in a variety of healthcare settings. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, maintaining a bibliographic database, study databases, and documentation, performing various duties related to compliance with institutional and federal regulations for human subjects research, assisting with the preparation of grant applications, manuscripts, presentations, and reports, recruiting and enrolling participants, and coordinating data collection, assisting with data analyses, coding, entry, and management.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a biological or social sciences or health related field, 1-2 years of experience in a public health, community or clinical health care setting, and/or 1-2 years of experience in clinical or health or social research environment. Excellent verbal and written skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and a high level of scientific integrity are required. Candidate should be detail-oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills. Intellectual contributions are encouraged and publication opportunities are available. Experience in Qualitative and Quantitative research methods will be an advantage.

Baccalaureate; preferably in a biological or social sciences or health related field.
