Position Description

The Center for Craniofacial Regeneration (CCR) at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is seeking a Research Specialist that must have significant experience and proficiency in histology and histomorphometry, cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy and imaging, animal care and handling, RNA/DNA/proteins extraction and analysis using PCR and quantitative PCR, immunohistochemistry, laboratory management skills. The individual must have exceptional multi-tasking skills and experience with project administration including but not limited to IACUC and IRB. The individual will be responsible for the managing, training, and coordinating of weekly tasks for personnel including troubleshooting and resolving unique problems by critically analyzing the data and modifying protocols. Regulatory knowledge is desirable with emphasis in pre-clinical studies including overseeing compliance of personnel concerning FDA regulations associated with pre-clinical studies. This individual will be responsible for research project management and data server maintenance (i.e. organization of documents and data). Duties also require managing and ordering supplies, keeping records of inventory, and advising/guidance to laboratory personnel. Individual must have proficient writing skills.

The candidate has to have at least a BS degree with major in science, engineering, or related field.
