Position Description

The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for carrying out experiments involving embryology, mammalian tissue culture, cloning, DNA manipulation, PCR, quantitative PCR, DNA and protein electrophoresis, protein analysis, recombinant protein synthesis, transfection, transformation, molecular cloning and animal studies involving animal surgeries and histological processing of samples. Emphasis will be placed on histology and tissue culture experience. The research specialist will also be responsible for general laboratory organization and daily upkeep including maintaining an inventory and receiving goods. The research specialist will conduct various laboratory experiments under the supervision of the Principal Investigator related to developmental biology.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years lab experience.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
