Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Administrator in the Office of Administration who will be responsible for all business functions of the School (i.e., fiscal, personnel, research administration, student records, graduate admissions).

The primary responsibility for research administration includes: review and prepare research proposals; review of agency guidelines and contracts; development/review of budgets; preparation of budgetary and other agency-specific forms; processing of proposals through the Office of Research; liaison with Research Accounting; maintenance of hard and computerized files on all research projects—pending, funded active, and inactive; post-award Administration, preparation of monthly and year-end statistical reports, research abstracts, and national surveys; review of research expenditures, resolution of overdrafts; completion of close-out and cost-sharing reports. The incumbent is expected to work on at least 400 proposals annually.
