Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh, Division of General Academic Pediatrics, is currently recruiting a Data Quality Specialist to this nationally recognized research institution participating in many federally funded and industry sponsored clinical trials. The individual will assist the Data Manager in the Data Coordinating Center with quality assurance activities by reviewing study records to identify data collection errors, report trends that require corrective actions, and assist implementation of plans to maintain quality data. The individual must have excellent communication and personal interaction skills. Strong attention to detail is a requirement. The incumbent must ensure that study protocols are adhered to in accordance with the study protocol and regulatory and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in health information management and/or 2 years’ office experience in a medical setting. Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology are required. Some flexibility into the early evening hours.

TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
