Job Summary

The Center for Critical Care Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking an outgoing, personable Pitt student with good communication skills and preferably a background (or taking coursework in) medicine or the health sciences to work with us in a variety of areas. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1) General office responsibilities may include making deliveries and pick-ups across campus; filing, making copies and stocking supplies.
2) Computer tasks include performing information and literature searches, data entry, typing meeting agendas, minutes, and letters; tracking research project and publication updates; and document development using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
3) Assistance with Social Media responsibilities which include working with our Critical Care Medicine Department Media group to generate updates to and maintenance of the Center’s social media sites (Twitter/Facebook). This may require attendance at Center meetings and events for collection of newsworthy items for the Center’s newsletter and website, and/or direct communication with Center Director, Faculty, and Staff for input and sharing of ideas. This student may be asked to assist with producing surveys, videos, and uploading materials to various social media outlets concerning the Center.
4) Assistance to Center Director, Operations Manager and Staff in daily office operations which may include set up for meetings, and assistance with projects and special events as needed.

Job Requirements

Computer knowledge – able to search the internet for information, ability to walk around campus for deliveries/pick ups, social media knowledge

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
