Job Summary

The Multidisciplinary Acute Care Research Organization (MACRO) is currently hiring Research Associate Interns to work approximately 12-20 hours per week. MACRO performs acute care clinical research within the pre-hospital and hospital setting. Students who intend to enter into a health profession are desirable but not mandatory. Preference will be given to students with a strong understanding of medical terminology and prior in-hospital or prehospital experience. Applicants are expected to be dedicated and hardworking undergraduates (preferably rising sophomores and juniors) who can communicate effectively as well as work independently. Research assistants will be expected to work during the week day, as well as evenings, overnights, and weekends. Students must be available to work holidays and semester breaks in addition to their shifts during the semester. Please consider your ability to fulfill your academic commitments and extracurricular activities as well as our work requirements prior to applying
If hired, research assistants will undergo 1-2 months of intensive training on shift responsibilities and workflow, as well as in-depth training for each study. There is a vast amount of training involved, so we ask for a long term commitment from our RAs. Mandatory meetings will be held bi-weekly and will be accompanied by monthly physician lectures on various topics. This position carries a great deal of responsibility: MACRO research assistants work in the Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, and Intensive Care Units with patients and their confidential medical information.
