Position Details

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Research Assistant Professor level, nontenure.

Responsibilities of this position include working with ongoing projects investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of tendinopathy and stem cell mechanobiology. The successful applicant may also be involved in devising novel functional tissue engineering approaches to effective repair of injured tendons and ligaments.

Minimum requirements: Applicants should possess a PhD in the biological sciences, or a closely related field. Applicants should have minimum 5 years of postdoctoral research experience with solid knowledge and excellent skill-sets in cellular and molecular biology. In particular, experience with stem cell research and animal models is highly desirable.

Starting date is negotiable, but applicants should be able to start before the end of October, 2017. Salary commensurate with experience.
