Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s UCIS-Office of the Director is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Member Coordinator. Under Executive Director’s supervision, the Membership Coordinator is responsible for handling all membership services, including renewals, convention registration, subscriptions, and correspondences; maintaining the database of individual and institutional membership records and managing all data entry; reconciling all transactions of fees and dues with the database, and generating reports from the database. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with the Association’s prizes, including communicating with the prize committees and updating the prize web pages. S/he is also responsible for general maintenance of the Association’s web site and the office, including answering the main Association’s phone, handling its mail, and ordering supplies. Some travel may be required.

Required: BA degree; 1-2 years of administrative experience; thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of Microsoft Access and Dreamweaver; ability to work independently and set priorities; strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable: Knowledge of and interest in Slavic, East European and Eurasian studies and knowledge of one (or more) language(s) spoken in the region; experience with Paypal and credit card transactions; experience with MS Access; good understanding of SQL database; experience with website editing, Dreamweaver.
