Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of SCI-Office of the Dean is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role as a Senior Research Administrator. This position will provide high-quality support to research faculty. This includes providing direct support to faculty in preparing budgets and assisting with proposal submission to granting agencies, primarily federal agencies. Responsibilities include: preparing complex budgets, projecting annual research expenses, analyzing funding trends, being knowledgeable about federal grant policies, and keeping up to date with changes in the research environment. The incumbent will interpret and apply University and Federal Agency policies and procedures. The ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and respond quickly to changing priorities is essential to the success of this position.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Must have at least 3-5 years experience in research administration which should include supervisory and/or senior level work experience.
