Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a student computing lab monitor.

This position focuses on customer service and maintaining the CSSD Computing Labs and Pitt Print Stations in the Computing Labs. Duties include helping customers, resetting passwords, answering general questions, and cleaning the Computing Labs. Lab Monitors also ensure that the lab computers and printers as well as Pitt Print Stations throughout campus are functioning properly. Lab Monitor will mainly stay in a computer lab, but may be asked to fix Pitt Print Stations throughout campus.

Weekly day, evening, and overnight shifts covering a 24/7 schedule.

The posting is for the Spring 2018 term.

Job Requirements

1.Must have a high level of English language proficiency both verbal and written due to the nature of the customer service interactions.
2.Ability to work independently and with others.
3.Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
4.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (one case of paper)
5.Willingness to do manual work (lifting paper boxes, cleaning desks, etc).
6.Functional working knowledge of computers.
7.Must not graduate before April 2018

Not eligible for Student Employment
• Students who are enrolled for less than 6 credits or not enrolled at the Oakland campus
• Individuals who are enrolled in a certificate program at the University of Pittsburgh
• Graduate students primarily registered for dissertation/thesis credits
