Job Summary

The Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) Department of the University of Pittsburgh is currently seeking a Student Technical Consultant starting in the Spring of 2017.

Student Technical Consultants provide quality technical support to University students.

Duties include:
– Establishing wired and wireless network connectivity;
– Providing basic software installation and support;
– Offering general troubleshooting and support;
– Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting operating systems;
– Eliminating malware and viruses.
– Additional technical and administrative-related tasks may be assigned.

Job Requirements

Consultants must be students able to work 12-20 hours per week, and will receive an hourly wage.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

A candidate must be enrolled as a student at the University of Pittsburgh in order to work as a student employee with Computing Services and Systems Development.

A candidate may not hold another University job or fellowship in addition to being a Student Technical Consultant.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks are required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Consultants are scheduled the same weekly shifts for the term. These shifts will be scheduled around the students class schedule based on available shifts.
