Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Research Specialist in the Department of Pharmacy in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Division.

The Research Specialist will report directly to the Program Director of the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU). Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with PERU’s Program Director, Director and Associate Director, and other personnel, the Research Specialist will have lead responsibility for assessing the needs, sourcing and transforming qualitative and quantitative data into curriculum and materials for the department and project initiatives.

The Research Specialist will be primarily responsible for directing the collection, management, and analyses of qualitative and quantitative data, as well as determining the most efficient and appropriate methodologies for conveying data to enhance the success of PERU’s initiatives. Additionally, the Research Specialist will be responsible for providing recommendations on the design and implementation of training programs, curriculum, and materials. As necessary, the Research Specialist will conduct trainings and interviews and provide assistance to the programs. The position requires the incumbent to work in a highly independent manner.

Job Requirements

Master of Public Health track, preferred.
Full time availability – 37.5hrs/wk

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Background Check For position finalists, employment with the University will require successful completion of a background check.
