Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Casual Clerk I to help support the PUH Infection Prevention & Control Department for the upcoming semester. You will be providing clerical support to the program/department
Responsibilities:
Perform observation tasks on various hospital units
Data entry and management of data bases
Run errands as required (e.g. hand deliver materials to units/mailroom)
Provide various clerical functions:
Prepare, photocopy, and distribute materials/documentation
File correspondence and other documents
Occasionally answer phones and take detailed messaged
Occasionally sort incoming mail and/or prepare mail for pick up
Attend staff meetings as requested
Work well independently
Other occasional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

High school diploma
Good command of spoken and written English language
Knowledge of general office procedures
Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and discretely
Strong computer skills/literacy
Knowledge of Microsoft office is a plus
Commitment and confidentiality is essential

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Hourly Pay Rate $8.00
