The Pitt News is currently seeking students to work as copy editors for the newspaper.

Job Requirements

This position requires no prior experience and is open only to registered students at the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus. A copy editor will work afternoons and evenings in shifts of two hours or more determined by the student editor. People with especially good writing and grammar skills are sought, and all people hired for the position will take a grammar, editing and spelling test to assess those skills.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
