Job Summary

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at the University of Pittsburgh is looking for a “Customer Support Technician” to answer support calls and aid our end users. As a front-line customer support technician, you will need skills in customer service and communication and basic technical skills related to IT hardware and software applications. Responsibilities include monitoring and responding to support issues received through multiple channels (e.g. phone, email and social media), identifying and locating appropriate staff members to resolve reported issues, and documenting issue resolutions. Customer service skills should include the ability to communicate clearly, capacity to help an end-user regardless of the user’s expertise and/or attitude, and willingness to aid our users in resolving their issues. Learning opportunities include the development of customer service skills, strategies for troubleshooting and correcting problems in IT hardware and software applications, and research/implementation of best practices in customer relationship management (CRM). Technical and business skills developed will include Microsoft Office, Atlassian JIRA, and Windows based operating systems and applications.

Job Requirements

Candidate will need skills in customer service and communication and basic technical skills related to IT hardware and software applications. Customer service skills should include the ability to communicate clearly, capacity to help an end-user regardless of the user’s expertise and/or attitude, and willingness to aid our users in resolving their issues.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
