Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a student worker to assist CSSD as an Inventory Stockroom Assistant.
Stockroom Assistant responsibilities include aiding with shipping, receiving, & stocking various hardware items for networking and telecommunications equipment. Will follow proper check-in, check-out and other inventory procedures. In addition, clerical duties such as typing, copying, & data entry. Assistants also frequently provide campus delivery/courier service. Delivery/courier service also may occur during inclement weather conditions.
This position requires the ability to lift & move packages that weighs in excess of 50 lbs.
Job involves the handling of delicate & expensive inventory – the Stockroom Assistant must be able to exercise care & judgement with items being sent/received.

Job Requirements

Previous experience with Microsoft Office software, as well as general database software, would be helpful. Ability to lift/move large packages, including unpacking pallets of freight delivery, is required.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Hourly Pay Rate $7.65

Anticipated Hours per Week 10-20 hours Fall & Spring term. Up to 37.5 hours summer term.
Anticipated Weekly Schedule

Monday – Friday flexible between the hours of 8:30 – 5. Should roughly be the same weekly shifts for the term. These shifts will be scheduled around the students’ class schedule.
