Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a student worker. The incumbent will work directly with participants in the Pitt’s Kids Saturday Program in the aquatics environment. Will maintain surveillance, safety, and supervision of both the pool and pool deck. The lifeguard will also implement all pool rules necessary along with setting up and breaking down the pool equipment needed for each day.

Job Requirements

Must have lifeguard certification; experience with swim instruction with adults or children, or assisting with swim instruction of either; or instruction with physical instruction with children. Must have reliable references and be able to provide 3 forms of clearances: FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check. Must be active, be able to lift children and be reliable.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
