Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh Office of University Communications is seeking a student worker with strong communications, photography, and/or videography skills to help tell the University of Pittsburgh’s story. The student will work directly with staff on a variety of projects including, but not limited to: taking photos and videos of various University activities and events; creating, developing, and editing digital copy; assisting with the development of social media content, performing various office administrative work; and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Candidates should be personable, highly motivated, well-organized and possess:
• Strong digital photography and videography skills
• Good understanding of Premier Pro and AfterEffects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be comfortable talking and interacting with students, staff, faculty, and the public
• Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgement, and discretion
• Ability to work well independently as well as with a team, and to work with interruptions to meet deadlines
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and prior experience office is a plus

Applicants must provide 5-7 examples of photography/video including photography samples of people, complete with written photo descriptions. An online portfolio is ideal, but links to samples of work or transmission of files is acceptable.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
