Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh Computing Services & Systems Development (CSSD) is currently seeking an Office Assistant within the Software Distribution Services area.

Office assistant responsibilities include providing administrative and customer service support, receptionist/front desk telephone support, clerical duties such as typing, copying and filing. Assistants also frequently provide campus delivery/courier service, including in inclement weather.

Job Requirements

This position requires a high degree of customer contact and previous experience in a professional office environment is preferred. Familiarity with using the Windows-based PC’s and programs including Microsoft Word and Excel is also required. Applicants must be able to work 10-20 hours per week between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
A candidate must be enrolled as a student at the University of Pittsburgh to work part-time at Computing Services and Systems Development, is not entitled to University benefits (vacation, sick leave, tuition benefits, unemployment compensation, etc.), and may not hold any other University job.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
