Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking qualified Residency Coordinator in the Pharmacy Department. The incumbent shall enhance the school’s effectiveness by providing an advanced level of support for the Pharmacy Residency Program in accordance with the School of Pharmacy, UPMC GME, and ASHP accreditation policies and procedures. The incumbent is to provide the residency program directors and the department chair with expert administrative support including the coordination of ASHP Accreditation documents; designing individual program materials; creating, entering and maintaining individual resident data in UPMC systems; assisting with the Mastery of Teaching program, resident seminars, journal club schedules, project management, and leadership development. The incumbent is responsible for assisting residents with daily issues and for resident academic affairs and alumni affairs. and. Additional administrative duties include coordinating the recruitment meetings; coordinate interview appointments; scheduling on-site interviews; completing all required paperwork for resident hiring in compliance with GME regulations,; and coordinating the School of Pharmacy and UPMC Resident orientations. In addition, the position will provide general administrative support for faculty members in the School of Pharmacy.
The candidate must have excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and writing). Candidate must be able to initiate work and work independently on a variety of simultaneous projects and must be able to solve complex problems. In addition, the candidate will work in both University of Pittsburgh and UPMC systems.
