Position Details

The Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking to expand its scope and depth via the recruitment of a number of additional senior and junior faculty. Currently, we seek candidates for tenure-track or tenured positions at all levels, with the intent of hiring up to five successful applicants (two at the Associate or Full Professor levels and three at the Assistant Professor level). At the University of Pittsburgh we have an outstanding Immunology Graduate Training Program, program project grants, training grants and a robust seminar series, all of which support close interactions among basic, translational and clinical immunologists. The Department is rapidly growing and has newly renovated open lab space with outstanding infrastructure that includes flow cytometry and CRISPR-Cas9-mediated gene-targeting cores. The University of Pittsburgh is located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, a safe, progressive, and affordable city with emerging technology in many spheres, that is well endowed with cultural and public institutions and that is consistently ranked among the top most livable cities in the US and the world. The University offers an exciting research community that presently ranks as the fifth highest funded by the National Institutes of Health. The Pitt SOM is ideally positioned for both basic and translational research. Startup packages, salary and benefits will be highly competitive.

The successful Assistant professor candidate will be expected to have well-conceived and original research directions, ideally with some initial funding. The successful Associate/Full Professor candidate should have well-established research funding and programs. Individuals who are leading their fields, regardless of particular specific area of interest, are welcome to apply.
