Position Description

The mission of the Center for Continuing Dental Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is to provide high quality, timely, and innovative continuing dental education programs to the dental community. The Center serves as a trusted resource for dental professionals to enhance their lifelong skills and knowledge, as well as to acquire necessary course hours for re-licensure.

We are seeking an administrative assistant with a pleasant and positive personality, as well as strong communication skills to assist participants, faculty, staff, supervisor and director, and execute all administrative tasks to the highest quality. The ideal candidate should have efficient organization and planning skills with the ability to multi-task, proficient typing skills, competent computer skills, including MS Word, and ability to perform routine tasks with little or no supervision.

The Administrative Assistant for the Center for Continuing Dental Education responsibilities include answering phone calls, database entry and management of registration software, collecting and processing tuition payments, monitoring and maintaining office supplies, packaging course materials, coordinating deliveries, mailing correspondence, maintaining appropriate filing systems, processing documents and forms, photocopying course materials, assisting in preparation of scheduled reports, performing work related errands, assuring proper setups for events, scheduling room requests, acquiring and maintaining a current knowledge base to effectively support participants, supervisor, director, faculty and staff.

High School diploma or GED plus 1-2 years clerical office experience required.
