Position Details

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Academic rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Major responsibilities will include: Didactic and clinical instruction primarily at the resident level with interest in helping advance the predoctoral curriculum, assistance with residency program planning, oversight and research. The main clinical activities will include facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, implants and pathology/reconstruction. Additional experience and interest in craniofacial surgery is desirable. The candidate should have an interest in major OMS surgery with a desire to teach and mentor residents. A well-established faculty practice exists to provide supplemental income enhancement.

The University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is a large Level I trauma center and includes Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) and Magee-Women’s Hospital. The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine has a high patient volume and all dental specialties are represented; this includes a Center for Craniofacial Regeneration. The opportunity for collaborative and high caliber research exists in both clinical and basic sciences.
