Job Summary

The University is seeking a tutor for the Math Assistance Center.

1. Assist students who need help with their math course in the Math Assistance Center.
2. Must be willing to work 2-3 assigned hours per week in the 9am-7pm range.
3. May work more than the 2-3 assigned hours but no more than 20 hours per week.

Tutors are only able to assist with courses in which they have received a B+ or higher.

Job Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
2. Strong preference will be given to students who have completed Math 240, and/or Math 290 and received a B+ or higher.
3. Must be proficient in pre-calculus and basic algebra.
4. Must have a strong work ethic.
5. Tutors may be asked to tutor in a specific subject, depending on the needs of the MAC. You will never be asked to tutor in a subject with which you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
