Position Description

Since 1896, the School of Dental Medicine has been educating students to take their places among the best dental practitioners in our region and across the country. Every day our faculty and staff contribute to our mission to advance the future of dental medicine through teaching, research and service. The Department of Restorative Dentistry is currently seeking a dental assistant to dispense necessary dental supplies to students and faculty from dispensary; ordering of supplies; sterilizing instruments; stocking clinic tables; chairside dental assisting. Exposing and processing radiographs as necessary. Should be well versed with HIPPA Act. Must be PA Radiology Certified.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

The incumbent must have had training at an approved dental assisting program and have passed the State Radiology Certification Examination for Dental Auxillaries. Experience in the performance of radiologic procedures is preferred. Knowledge of dental supplies, ability to deal effectively with dental students and to have skills commensurate with 4-handed dentistry, as well as knowledge of hazardous waste manipulation. Should be well versed with HIPPA Act.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
