Position Description

The Research Technician is responsible for the design, execution and interpretation of a variety of experiments in the laboratory. The successful candidate will help perform approved molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry research projects according to defined protocols and procedures. Additional responsibilities include: performing laboratory procedures and tests; analyzing and interpreting data; preparing and disposing of reagents necessary for research, and maintaining lab inventory. Experience working with C. elegans and/or mammalian specimens desired. A Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or other basic science is required and two years of experience.

Will be required to work some evenings and weekends. This position requires some flexibility with shift/hours.

This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville.

TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
