Position Description

The department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Master’s level candidate for a Data Analyst position for medical and health services research. The data analyst will be responsible for (1) conducting statistical analyses and summarizing the results, (2) documenting statistical programming procedures, (3) writing methods for manuscripts, and (4) maintaining and managing databases for several studies. This position requires the incumbent to use good judgment and discretion, act independently when applicable, appropriately prioritize multiple tasks, meet immovable deadlines and maintain a professional demeanor. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and software such as SAS and SPSS and must be willing and able to learn other statistical software as required. Competence in linear, logistic and multi-level regressions using SAS required.

NOTE: This is a part-time position at 50% effort.

Position requires good judgment and discretion, independent action when applicable, appropriate prioritization of multiple tasks, ability to meet immovable deadlines, professional demeanor, proficiency in the use of personal computers and software such as SAS and SPSS and other statistical software as applicable, competence in linear, logistic and multi-level regressions using SAS software, ability to work with team members on shared responsibilities, familiarity with University procedures and medical terminology preferred, good to excellent writing skills preferred, familiarity with epidemiological research and statistical analysis required, excellent organizational skills required, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
