Position Description

The Office Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support for the Radiation Safety Office and its director. Specific duties include drafting, typing and processing correspondence and reports, maintaining database records, filing, setting up meetings and events, and processing purchase requisitions. This position also serves as the office receptionist by greeting and routing guests, answering phone calls, responding to external and internal requests, faxing, photocopying, and receiving and distributing mail, updating website and maintaining supplies. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as advanced skills in typing, word processing, data entry and data management.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Completion of formal secretarial training or equivalent experience required. Knowledge and experience with MS Office application required. Knowledge of data management software, presentation graphic software, and web applications are required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
