The University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center is seeking a qualified Counselor. The Counselor is responsible for providing direct clinical services to a diverse student body within the University’s Counseling Center, including assessment, individual, couples, and group counseling as well as crisis intervention. The incumbent will also be involved in providing supervision and training to practicum students, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows. This position will also provide outreach and consultation to staff, faculty, parents, and students as needed and participate actively in staff, committee, and professional development activities.
This position will require the incumbent to provide on-call emergency coverage, as assigned. Must be committed to and experienced in working with students of diverse backgrounds and a range of presenting concerns. Excellent communication and demonstrated supervisory skills are also highly important. A qualified applicant must have a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, including counseling, psychology, or social work. The applicant must also be licensed, and must obtain a Pennsylvania license within one year from date of employment.
