Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Data Manager in the Graduate School of Public Health. The incumbent will provide data management for multi-center clinical trial. Duties involve form design, data collection system maintenance; creation and maintenance of Manual of Operations; programming for data reporting and quality assurance. The incumbent will be responsible for performing periodic data freezes; create and disseminate high-level summary reports on study progress, and detail reports for clinical review. The Data Manager will work closely with clinical personnel to ensure data quality and protocol adherence; responsible for data training and data audits. The position will work with analysts to provide summary datasets, and prepare de-identified datasets for permanent archival. The position requires proactive attention to detail and an ability to work independently. Background should include a bachelor’s degree, experience in clinical trials, and SAS programming skills.

Master’s degree in Public Health or Bachelor’s degree with 7-9 years of experience with knowledge of research, data processing, and computer programming. Must understand the importance of data processing to the study goals.
